Here are five photos of Zuri and Safi, taken on the same day of my last Zara photos, here you can see how young Zuri looked even though he was sexually mature, his mane was incredibly small and very blonde, not a lion you would expect to have just sired a litter!
But if you put this into a wild situation, it is around the age of 2 years that young lions would get thrown out of their pride, I guess this is the main reason, less competition for the pride male and no chance of other genes being passed on.
