These may not be pictures of the usual lions, however the lions pictured here were born at Woburn Safari Park, and are siblings of Riziki and Karla, so it will be interesting to see how they turn out! Their names are Bailey, Naja and Malika. The pictures here were taken in July 2010, unfortunately with my old camera so I was unable to take any close ups like I could with my new one, but you can still get a taste of what Bailey looks like, he certainly has a very bold face, and his mane goes all the way back down his neck, so it will definately fill out a lot in the future.
Here is a link to a very short BBC article about their move to Colchester.
The trio were not the only lions moved from Woburn to stop fighting and to help the prides dynamics, for example recently a couple of females, were moved to help keep the pride stable, as it was intended to breed with their previous male Shane. As far as I know I think the girls went to a zoo in Europe, Emmen Zoo springs to mind. However he died before he sired any cubs, hence the arrival of Kasanga, as seen in an earlier post.
