Woburn Safari Park - 23rd April 2013 - Morning

With three days in a row off last week I decided to make the most of the sunny weather! I visited Paradise Wildlife Park on Tuesday (sadly with the lack of tawny African Lions there since the death of Turkana there is no reason to post any photos up o here) and Woburn Safari Park on Thursday. I was keen to see how the place looked now that summer has started to creep in and how the pride was coping since my last visit late last year.

Working through the reserves quickly to get to the lions, they were very easily seen ontop of a hill right at the far side of their reserve all asleep together. Kasanga was in the overnight paddock by the house, photos will shortly follow of him in the next post. All of the pride seemed to be in good health and all taking part in the typical lion lazy summer behaviour. The three castrated boys do seem to be particularly close and really are huge compared to the five females (four of which are siblings, the other one is a cousin). Those wishing to look at a history of the Woburn Pride and for information on pride members please look at this page. Anyway here are all the photos for you all to enjoy, some of the females did move off towards lunchtime and you can see them playing together.

Woburn does definately have a fantastic reserve for their lions, it really gives views that you can't get anywhere else and makes for some great photos. Below is my favourite one from the morning. Next posts will include photos from the afternoon and my pictures of Kasanga.

Hope you've enjoyed looking at these photos.

Cheers

James
